In February, Aston Fisher hosted an event at the 1890 Gordon Ramsey restaurant within The Savoy. This gathering was the first of our Leadership Development Series and uniquely tailored for senior women in business, with a focus on exploring their potential for board positions.
Recognising a common challenge for senior women, who often sideline their personal development due to the demands of their day job, our objective was to introduce a series of events dedicated to personal growth. These events are designed to support our guests to dedicate time to their career advancement.
Our first session was in collaboration with Rachel Tranter from Women on Boards, who offered valuable insights and practical advice on critical considerations for board roles. Questions like "Is being a NED right for you?", "What are the actual responsibilities involved?", and most importantly, "How do you begin your journey?" were discussed.
The naturally informal atmosphere, with a delicious breakfast, combined with a personal development topic, created the perfect setting for twenty senior professional women to prioritise themselves and their careers ahead of their working day.
We would like to say thank you to all our guests for their participation and the positive feedback. Their suggestions have provided us with excellent topics for future sessions.
Our aim is to continue with small, high-quality events packed with practical guidance that will contribute to increasing gender diversity in leadership. This is a particular focus for Tess, in our team, so if you are interested in discussing this further, please get in touch.
